Dumfriesshire MSP Elaine Murray has opened up her constituency office as a drop-off point for those wishing to make donations for refugees at Calais.

The office at 5 Friars Vennel, Dumfries is open from 10am until 4pm Monday to Friday for anyone wishing to hand in donations.

Dumfriesshire MSP Elaine Murray said:

“The refugees have left their homes with only the essentials and have travelled thousands of miles in treacherous conditions; many have been separated from their families. The region has shown a great sense of community spirit by taking action, organising, and donating such a large amount of items already. That is something we can all take pride in. No matter how small a donation received it is always most welcome and appreciated. The donations we receive will be handed over to D&G Refugee Action who have went to amazing efforts to make the collection and delivery of aid possible.”
